PVC fences and gates for homes and businesses in Christchurch, Canterbury and across the South Island

When you want a fence or gate that looks sharp, lasts for decades, and are super low maintenance, PVC fences and gates are hard to beat - they are a modern alternative to timber and metal, offering a clean finish, excellent durability, and long-term value.
Paragon Fencing is based in Christchurch and supplies and installs high-grade PVC fencing and gates across Canterbury and throughout the South Island. We work with homeowners, businesses, property developers, builders and architects, delivering fencing systems that are built for reliability and finished properly.
Paragon Fencing supplies PVC fencing backed by a 30-year warranty, giving you confidence you’re investing in a long-term solution. For straightforward installs, we can often complete a standard 20-metre straight fence in a day, so you get a fast, professional result with minimal disruption.

PVC fencing for residential properties

A good fence does more than mark a boundary - it improves privacy, helps deter unwanted visitors, and gives your outdoor spaces structure, whether that’s separating garden zones, creating a safe pool area, or screening a patio from wind and neighbours.
PVC fencing is especially popular for residential properties because it looks great from day one and stays that way - unlike timber, it won’t warp, rot, or need repainting, and unlike steel, it won’t rust or corrode.
Paragon Fencing supplies and installs PVC fencing for a wide range of residential needs, including:
  • Front and side boundary fencing
  • Privacy fencing and screening for patios and outdoor seating areas
  • Garden fencing to create zones within your section
  • Pool fencing (including compliant locks and latching options)
If you’re not sure what style will suit your home best, we can talk through options during a site visit and recommend a solution that fits your layout, budget, and the look you want.

Custom PVC fencing to suit your home

One of the biggest advantages of PVC fencing is how adaptable it is. Paragon Fencing panels come in standard sizes for efficient installation, but we can also cut panels down to suit your site — particularly useful for stepped sections, tighter spaces, or areas where you want a more tailored finish.
We include a site visit as part of the quote process so we can properly understand your property, check measurements, and make sure the final design works in the real world — not just on paper. If you’d like to include practical features as part of your front boundary, we can also install a built-in letterbox, helping keep your entrance tidy and functional.

PVC fencing and gates for new builds and building projects

When building a new home, PVC fencing is a smart way to finish the property with a fence that complements all modern architecture and avoids the maintenance issues that come with timber or metal. Depending on what suits your project, we can either:
  • Supply the fencing for your building team to install, or
  • Manage the entire job, including supply and installation
PVC fencing is also a popular choice for subdivisions and higher-density builds because it provides a clean, consistent finish across multiple properties.

A reliable partner for builders, developers and architects

Paragon Fencing can work directly with homeowners, or alongside architects, builders, and developers, to confirm fencing options and layout early in the build process. With a straightforward process, quality workmanship, and strong communication from start to finish, we work across the South Island on projects including single home builds, subdivisions, high-density housing developments, and commercial and industrial builds — with PVC fencing often providing a quicker, more cost-effective finishing solution than traditional materials.

PVC fencing styles, sizes and finishing options

Paragon Fencing PVC fencing products are available in three main styles - paling fencing, solid fencing with paling at the top, and solid fencing. We also supply a full range of finishing and hardware options, including fence caps (classic or colonial styles), secure latches and locks, and customised gate options. Standard sizes include:
  • Fence panels: typically 1.8m high, 2.4m between posts (can be cut down)
  • Picket fencing: typically 1.2m high, 2.4m between posts (can be cut down)

PVC gates (standard or automated) to match your PVC fence

Paragon Fencing supplies and installs standard PVC pedestrian gates, custom swing gates, and sliding gates that can be automated on request. For strength and reliability, our larger gates are built using a welded aluminium frame (powder-coated) with PVC panels inserted into the frame.
This creates a gate system that looks seamless with the fence, while delivering the stability needed for daily use — especially on larger entrances and driveways. Standard sizes include:
  • Pedestrian gates: 1.8m high, 900mm wide
  • Swing gates: 1.8m high, up to 1.5m wide
  • Sliding gates: 1.8m high, up to 6m wide (customisable and automatable)
We also supply a range of latch and locking options, including standard double-sided latches (lockable from both sides), and pool-compliant latches and locks where required

Commercial PVC fences and gates

PVC fencing is a practical option for commercial properties because it provides secure fence panels without the ongoing upkeep of timber fencing or the corrosion issues that can come with some metal solutions. It is especially well suited for sites such as:
  • Retirement villages and lifestyle villages
  • Rest homes and care facilities
  • Commercial and industrial properties
  • Multi-unit developments and shared spaces
PVC fencing can blend into its surroundings for a tidy, classic look, or be used as a standout feature to lift the appearance of entrances, shared areas, and boundaries.
From large-scale projects e.g. the 700 metres of picket fencing around the Ashburton Raceway, complete with custom-made gates crafted by David, to smaller commercial installs, we have the experience and capacity to deliver projects of any size.
Paragon Fencing is based in Christchurch and works with clients across Canterbury and throughout the South Island. We have experienced installers available South Island-wide, and we also travel for projects where required. If you’re looking for a fence that delivers on finish, reliability, and long-term performance — we’d love to help. Contact Paragon Fencing to find out more and get a quote.

FAQs

High-quality PVC fencing typically lasts 20–30 years or more with proper installation. Because PVC doesn’t rot, rust, warp or degrade like wood or some metals, it maintains strength and appearance for decades.

Absolutely. PVC fencing can be adapted to sloping or uneven ground with professional installation, ensuring a clean, continuous finish across your yard — even on hills or stepped landscapes.

In most cases, yes. Individual panels, rails, posts, or gate components can often be replaced without needing to rebuild the entire fence, which makes PVC a practical long-term option if accidental damage occurs.

White is the best option for PVC fencing because it delivers a clean, timeless look that suits almost any home style and helps lift street appeal without dating over time. It also performs well in the sun by reflecting heat, and because the colour is consistent through the material, it’s great at hiding minor scuffs and keeping its fresh appearance with minimal maintenance.
